Information Technology Office invites you to try the IT helpdesk virtual assistant

Starting from 16 August, all staff and students of the university will be able to test the virtual assistant on the University of Tartu IT wiki page, which will provide support in solving IT problems based on existing guides. The trial period will last a couple of months, during which the Information Technology Office will be able to assess the quality of the virtual assistant service.

A virtual assistant is an artificial intelligence-based chatbot that is trained to answer questions according to the guides on the IT helpdesk wiki pages. For example, the questions fed to the assistant may concern Outlook setup, printing or the first login of a new student to the university's online environments.

The assistant responds to questions in both Estonian and English, but you can also try other languages.

How to use the virtual assistant?

  1. Go to the page https://wiki.ut.ee/display/IT.
  2. To open the chat window, click on the icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.

If the virtual assistant fails to respond adequately, it will advise you to contact the IT helpdesk specialists.

After using the virtual assistant, leave the Information Technology Office feedback. To do this, click on the chat bubble to the left of the response window. Feedback is anonymous and will be saved. On the basis of the information received, the Information Technology Office will further develop the assistant service.

If you run into problems while using the assistant, contact the IT helpdesk for support (737 5500, helpdesk@ut.ee, https://wiki.ut.ee/display/LAN).
